Presenting the eTACCHE at IVEC 2025

On October 15, 2025, the eTACCHE Project was proudly presented at IVEC 2025 under the title:

“Innovating Cultural Heritage Education through VR: The eTACCHE Project in Initial Teacher Education.”

During the conference, Mr. Nils Drixler, the eTACCHE project coordinator, showcased the project’s key achievements from its first year of implementation, with a particular focus on its innovative use of Virtual Reality (VR) in teacher education.

The presentation highlighted a set of immersive VR learning environments developed within the project, designed to support intercultural dialogue, cultural heritage awareness, and experiential learning in initial teacher education programs. These environments allow student teachers to engage with diverse cultural narratives, heritage sites, and pedagogical scenarios in ways that go beyond traditional classroom instruction.

By integrating VR technology with eTwinning-based collaboration, the eTACCHE project offers future educators practical tools to foster empathy, critical reflection, and intercultural competence—skills that are increasingly essential in diverse and digital learning contexts.

The strong interest shown by conference participants confirmed the project’s relevance and its potential contribution to innovative, inclusive, and digitally enriched teacher training across Europe. The presentation at IVEC 2025 marks an important milestone in disseminating eTACCHE’s vision and early outcomes to the international virtual exchange and educational innovation community.
